“I’m not a TikTok person.”
“I don’t want to dance or do cringey lip syncs.”
“That app is for kids.”
Yep, we’ve heard it all. And maybe you’re right…
But here’s the thing: TikTok Works, even if you’re not viral, even if you don’t dance.
In fact, TikTok has become one of the most powerful tools to let people know who you are, what you do, and why they should care. And it’s not about being polished or perfect. It’s about being real, clear, and relatable.
TikTok is your new elevator pitch.
Remember when you had one minute at a networking event to explain your work?
Now, all you’ve got is one scroll one short moment to make someone pause and say: “Oh, this is cool.”
So how do you do that? Easy:
Just answer three things, quickly and authentically:
- What do you do?
- What makes your way of doing it different?
- Why should anyone care?
No scripts, no crazy transitions. Just you, showing up with clarity.
Here’s what it could look like:
Picture this: a simple video, facing the camera.
“Hi, I’m _____. I build branding that doesn’t look like every Pinterest board you’ve seen. I help you create a brand with soul — not just a logo.”
Boom. Done. Published. And now you’re out there, making your work visible in a way that feels human and true.
But… does it actually work? Yes.
Because TikTok loves real stories, simple value, and authentic creators.
Because people are tired of fluff and want quick, useful insights.
And because if you’re not the one talking about your work… someone else probably is.
✨ WRU TIP:
Don’t overthink the content. Think of small stories:
The moment you realized you wanted to do this for a living.
A lesson you learned the hard way.
That time you almost quit… but didn’t.
And hey, if you’re still camera shy, start with text, slides, or voiceovers. The point isn’t to copy what others are doing. It’s to own your voice and use TikTok as your new megaphone.
You don’t need to be an influencer.
You just need to show up, with heart.
